Music has been used to deliver messages since the beginning of time. Below are a list of four new Nigerian songs that can help you say I Love You to that special someone. Music is indeed powerful.
1. P-Square – Away
The brothers brought in their A Game on this one. Bringing back the O.G P-Square vibe that we have grown to know them for. The words I Love You was mentioned just as the song begins. It is indeed worth listening and sharing with that special someone. I like where Peter says – Na true love go dey humble you. I bet a lot of us can relate. When you fall for someone that persons presence is humbling.
2. Davido – If
Davido needs to make more of this type of music even though he just had to let us know he has access to 30 billion, its all good. And I hear Tekno made the beat, interesting, he has shown a lot of talent in the last 12 months.
From the get go once again, just like P-Square in Away, Davido uses the words I Love You. And I like how he started the first verse, quite catchy. I can imagine getting down on some slow wine with that special someone on this one. What do you think?
3. Mad Over You – Runtown
This is a beautifully written song. We just have to give it up for Runtown for serenading us with this beautiful piece of art. This that song you listen and sing along to with your man /woman. That good times kind of vibe, if you can relate.
4. Phyno – Mistakes
Phyno lets us know with this track that he still has that flow. This is an emotional RnB/Rap song, mostly in the Igbo dialect. Even though you probably do not get a lot of what was said, you can feel the emotion in his tone. Mistakes is that kind of music you can relate to if you ever had love so good, lost it and you wish to rekindle the love you once had. And again he says the words ‘I Love You’.

Mr P of Psquare – For My Head
If you have heard the song already, I would like to know what you think. I must commend Mr P for doing a quick one with this Single. It’s never easy keeping up with the business with all the personal and family business out in the open. With this comes fans taking sides on matters they tend not to know much about.
Holding it together to continue working on the music is a big deal. Much respect to the man. Yet, I do believe he can do a lot better. Both brothers have come a long way and do not have to impress or prove anything to anyone. They can both choose to retire right now and would have made a mark in the music industry.
This song ‘For My Head’ has a lot of what we have been hearing from musicians over and over again. There is nothing in this song that makes me want to listen to it more than one time. From I go die for you, to I go cry for you. Banana, plantain or orange peeling for you. Okay, ignore the sarcasm here – You get the point though, it’s all bants.
Mr P is a very good dancer and holds in own vocally, no doubt there. Even so, you need to get a fine song writer or a group of them. There is nothing wrong with working with songwriters. A lot of international stars work with a lot of songwriters to give us back to back hits.
It would be awesome to see Mr P making more music and not just music. Top notch music that is evergreen and grows on you every time you listen to it. What do you think though? Feel free to leave a comment.
Tiwa Savage’s MA LO Visual Comes Out Fresh!
The Mavin’s first lady teamed up with Starboy Wizkid on the 6th track on her EP titled “Sugarcane”.
The afro-pop tune titled, “Ma Lo” has been causing major waves nationwide since it dropped. The lyrics is the usual naija style.
The official video which was released few days ago, can boast of excellent directing and impressive party scenes, with really cool dance moves. The graphics and concept was dished out clean and hot!
“Great audio; disappointing video” has been the issue with most Nigerian songs, but not Ma Lo, this song is a total package.
One that is likely to top charts in Nigeria and possibly Africa.
