The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) leads and inspires the world to achieve its shared vision of zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths. UNAIDS unites the efforts of 11 UN organizations-UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, UN Women, ILO, UNESCO, WHO and the World Bank-and works closely with global and national partners towards ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility
  • Candidates for internships at UNAIDS must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degree program at a recognized educational institution (and have completed three years of full-time studies) or have completed a course of study and have been awarded an undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degree at a recognized educational institution.
  • If candidates are recent graduates they will be expected to start and complete the internship within 12 months of their date of graduation.
  • Candidates must be at least 20 years of age at the date of application and have a working knowledge (both oral and written) of at least one of the WHO/UNAIDS’s official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) require in the office of internship.
  • Candidates should be holders of a valid passport from WHO/UNAIDS Member State.
Terms and Conditions
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, adapt and integrate easily with the team, work cooperatively in support of team objectives.
  • Ability to convey ideas and thoughts in a clear and convincing way in one-on-one discussions or groups presentations and ability to produce clear correspondence and written reports.
  • Ability to effectively apply their knowledge and skills to the job, and to consistently learn and improve performance.
  • Ability to show initiative and enthusiasm in their work, effectively organize and manage time, and deliver high-quality results in line with agreed objectives.
  • Ability to innovate and find new ways of working and improving results while maintaining a strong service orientation.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities, to be productive, fulfill commitments and use resources responsibly.
Additional Information

The duration of internships is limited to a minimum of eight weeks and a maximum of six months. Stipend may be offered by UNAIDS. During the internship period official travel may exceptionally be required. Interns will be provided with general medical illness, accident and emergency illness coverage insurance. Persons with immediate family members employed by the UNAIDS Secretariat (e.g. son/daughter, brother/sister or mother/father) are not eligible for internships. UNAIDS may offer an internship to candidates who have not previously participated in UNAIDS’ internship program.

Applications from people living with HIV are particularly welcome. Applications from women and from nationals of non- and under-represented member states are particularly encouraged.

Cynosure Management, a growing data analytics, and public policy consulting company, offer a unique opportunity for an intern analyst to assist in developing cutting-edge research, data analysis, and visualization products for clients. Our clients include government agencies, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

This is an intern position, working remotely to support initiatives and projects for the team. The successful candidate will be an independent thinker, detail-oriented, and an effective time manager. The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner and work well remotely.

Responsibilities

  1. Adhoc support for research, data analysis, and report development
  2. Collect, monitor, and analyze data; identify public health data and county health records for various programs, states, and localities.
  3. Conduct frequent desk research to support team activities and projects
  4. Attend focused meetings and webinars and appropriately communicate information learned
  5. Gather evidence-based resources for projects, including, but not limited to, summary reports, tip sheets, one-pagers, and best practice recommendation documents.
  6. Manage external engagements on electronic platforms
  7. Curate latest research and health news for monthly newsletter, Health Round-up, lead google analytics review related to online content, and present results to the team to drive future content.

Qualifications: Skills And Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Advanced skill in creating charts and tables in Excel.
  3. Experience or training in conducting data analyses.
  4. Proficiency in other analysis and visualization tools such as Stata, R, Tableau, a plus!
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels of interaction; ability to present information in various formats and styles for different audiences.
  6. Knowledge of public health and political landscape in Nigeria

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), in collaboration with Nigerian Breweries Plc, invite application from qualified young Nigerians of sound character and learning potential to undertake an intensive seven months training programme on Technical Skills Development in the combined field of Mechanical and Automation Maintenance.

Objectives

  1. To train and equip youths with employable technical skills 
  2. To promote a Public-Private Sector Model in Vocational / Technical Skills Training and contribute to capacity development of our country

The Programme

The programme is a non-residential training at the Supply Chain Academy of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Ibadan. Trainees will not be entitled to Salary during the period of training. Trainees will be required to have hands-on training in any of Nigerian Breweries Plc locations in Lagos, Aba, Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, Ota, Ijebu-ode and Awo-Omamma. This programme does not confer Nigerian Breweries’ employee status on the trainees.
