Wilder upgraded his reputation with a staggering first-round knockout against Canada’s Bermane Stiverne on Saturday night, to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
The win spanned his record to 39 wins from 39 fights. The Brown Bomber has his eyes on a bumper-money bout against British golden boy, Anthony Joshua, after calling AJ out on Instagram
“I declare war upon you, do you accept my challenge?”
Meanwhile AJ who recorded his 20th career win against Carlos Takem last weekend, responded to Wilder’s request stating, “you don’t negotiate fights on social media.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that we are likely to see the two fighters in the same ring.
AJ vs Brown Bomber, Who Goes Home Champ?
AJ, who obviously is more developed, talented and coordinated than Wilder.
Wilder, I think will be a tough opponent for AJ, cause he moves and punches better than fighters AJ has faced.
AJ’s frightening confidence and lethal nature, I think can him the fight, but Wilder has proven that he can take on punches and still not land on the canvas, which makes this fight a blockbuster.
Riliwan Lawal Drops Fatai Nurudeen With A Crazy Right Hook
Riliwan Lawal knocked out Fatai Nurudeen claiming the National and West African Featherweight Title belts, on the 26th of January, 2020.
Certainly, it was an explosive night with bouts like Massebinu vs Idowu, Salam vs Ukadike, Appah vs Segun. And then, title bouts like Olowu vs Ayiro, and Lawal vs Nurudeen amongst others. Lasigi Fight Night is the only pro-boxing event in Nigeria.
The January edition of the boxing event is titled The Resolution. Saleh Gloves Promotions sponsored the event in partnership with Unboxx Sports and Freels & Threels Promotions.
Even though both fighters exchanged intensively although the fight, Lawal displayed sheer brillance in the 7th round. As he knocked out cold, visibly tired Nurudeen to the amazement of the crowd.
Following his 7th round TKO against Nurudeen, the army boxer, Lawal emerged the new national and West African Featherweight champion.
It was such an exciting bout that even if you were there that night, you would want to watch it over and over again.

The African Boxing Scene Is About To Get More Exciting
A couple months ago I wrote about a boxing revolution that is to come in Nigeria. Sports in Nigeria especially sports like boxing have taken the backseat for awhile now. There are so many talented boxers in Nigeria craving and working hard as much as they can for an opportunity to be in the spot light.
Such an opportunity came in March with Saleh Gloves Promotions hosting a very successful boxing event in Lagos, Nigeria. Saleh Gloves Promotions is a licensed Boxing Promotions company operating out of Lagos. Involved in talent sourcing, talent development and support. The brand also runs an NGO project called ‘They Deserve To Dream’. With the aim of providing training and development, management, welfare and financial support for young talented sports men and women in Africa.
SGP Boxing 001 was a charity boxing event held on the 25th of March 2018 at Mobolaji Johnson Indoor Sports Hall, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos. With an unexpected massive turn out and quality fights like never seen before in the region. With 5 professional bouts and 7 amateur bouts. Of the 5 professional bouts 2 were between Nigerian and Ghanaian fighters, Lawal ‘D Realshow Boi’ Riliwan vs Issaac ‘Zongo Fire’ Dowuona and Kabiru ‘Godson’ Towolawi vs Stephen #Warrior’ Abbey respectively.
Both fights were won by the 2 Nigerians Lawal ‘D Realshow Boi’ Riliwan and Kabiru ‘Godson’ Towolawi. Over 800 tickets sold with the organizers forced to turn down some fans that wanted tickets last minute. Obviously, SGP boxing 001 was a great success.
